Wattpad, Wut?

So, the reason I’ve been scarce in the blogoverse the last little bit is absolutely Jenny Trout’s fault. If you’ve never read her blog, she is a sassy, witty, and all around wonderful human being that writes fiction and also spews pure awesomeness on a daily basis.

I first stumbled across her blog a few years ago while I was desperately trying to find people on the Internet that hate 50 Shades of Grey as much as I do. Jenny was in the process of doing chapter by chapter recaps of it, pointing out all if the horrible things in articulate detail.

Her 50 Shades posts are done, and she’s working her way through a (loving) episode by episode recap of every Buffy season. But she’s also taken on a new project in a fanfiction that has taken the world by storm and is getting it’s own movie. It’s called After, and it is a One Direction fanfic, and it is absolutely terrible.

Of course, I’ve been reading it maniacally for days.

And conversations like this happened.

It’s a train wreck.

Anyway, this long explanation brings me to my topic of the post. After is posted on Wattpad, which is basically the Kindle store but everything is free. And you can comment on every paragraph in a story, which is hilarious.

Shitty fanfiction aside, it’s a pretty cool platform, and if one were to want to do a serial novel, I think it might be the ideal choice. I had maybe thought of doing it on the blog, but it might be more streamlined over there.

What do you guys think? Has anyone used Wattpad? Any recommendations?
